Caffeine pleaseeee

What have you ladies been doing when you feel totally exhausted?? It's hard for me this week I have been so good this pregnancy no coffee no soda I know it's okay to indulge but I know if I start I won't stop :[ I need a pick me up so badly.. I took a nap but it only made me more tired I feel like I could sleep for another 3 hours!

Re: Caffeine pleaseeee

  • i make a cup of (crappy keurig) coffee every morning and drink about 3/4 of it.   with DD i drank no caffeine, but this time, i literally could not get off the floor most days if i didnt it.  i also rationalize it as it's not even a full cup (bc i always leave it somewhere and forget about it) and it's keurig coffee (weaker than anything i've ever had in my life), so it can't be that bad.  i'm a strong black coffee kind of lady, so this is my compromise.  :)

but i understand about not stopping once you start...   sometimes just a beverage change is enough to wake me up a bit.   maybe have some lemonade/limade?  carbonated water?

  • That's a good idea : Maybe a new juice will wake me up a bit.. Thanks!
  • My Dr told me a little caffeine per day will keep my headaches away, so I make a 4 cup pot of coffee 1/2 cafe from Folgers, pour a ton of mocha creamer in my to go cup, add probably 3 or less of the cups of 1/2 cafe and drink 3/4 of the to go cup... So... i am sure I am under the recommended dose for pregnant women and I dr. seems to think this is fine.

  • Mmm the mocha creamer sounds amazing :]
  • I gave up caffeine for 6 weeks, until I got the GD diagnosis at 12 weeks. Too many restrictions and I needed my caffeine. I probably have a bit more than I should per day, but I get horrible cluster headaches and it helps sometimes.

Same with me! I did have a hard time not being able to use half and half though. Dairy makes my levels go up. SO learning to drink it black was hard. But I also do a very small keurig cup of coffee that is pretty weak. I just need a little pick me up in the morning to keep the headaches away all day

  • I drink a small mug of coffee about 5 days out of the week. I really need the boost, personally, and it's considered fine. I did hold off for the first trimester though, and I took a B vitamin when needed
