Toy storage question

Does it drive anyone else crazy when the parts to a toy or puzzle aren't with that toy?

For example, I throw everything into a bin and then I have to dig through the whole bin to find the parts to the toy when we are going to use it.

Any solutions to this?  Do people store parts in ziploc bags or is that anal?

Re: Toy storage question

  • It only gets worse lol. I just try to keep stuff together. I try to keep all similar toys together in my toy storage unit

  • I don't know where I heard or saw this (mckinky may have said it, could be wrong) but storing the toys with many parts separately so that you know where those pieces are at all times.  Maybe you guys play together with those?  Maybe that's to much work!

I actually like the bag idea.  Maybe I'd do Tupperware when they are still young enough to choke on bags?

  • We use old wipe boxes to keep everything together. So far most of his stuff has big pieces so it's no biggie on keeping everything together.

  • I just got one of those Cubeical units from Closetmaid. It's attractive and I can keep all the parts to toys together. We just take out the fabric boxes when he wants to play, and put it back when he's done.
