Late Term and Child Loss

6 months later

Well its been 6 months since we learned about the loss of our baby. My "due date" would be right around the corner. My brother found out he is going to be a dad two weeks after my D&C . Im not really sure how to feel. I know I should be happy for them but its really hard when all I keep thinking about is what could have been. My husband is great at the whole "when its time it will happen" bit but me not so much. I want to try again but I'm scared of experiencing the loss of another. I wish that I could just forget or not think about what could be. I wish I could stop wondering what he or she might look like. 6 months later and it still feels like yesterday.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  It is especially hard when those around us get their happy endings that you want.  MH was like that too with our first loss...I was devestated but he was more optimistic about trying again.  It was hard not to be on the same page, but there are benefits because he helped me to be a little more optimistic and not feel at my absolute worst forever.

You might have better luck on the miscarriage board, this board is more women who have experienced stillbirth or later losses.  Big hugs to you.
