DD's first bday is coming up and the child is allergic to nearly everything: wheat, dairy, soy, oatmeal, and others... I don't know about almonds.
Is there a prayer of finding a cake recipe that would suit her?
Is there a rice flour for baking?
Or should I try a gluten free flour?

try a gluten-free flour
I made these for DD's birthday (she is not allergic, just has multiple food protein intolerance, which she is rapidly outgrowing). I used rice milk and Earth Balance soy free spread. Good luck!
I made this recipe as cupcakes for DS2's bday.
You'd have to sub a gluten-free flour like Red Mill. They turned out a little more dense, like muffins, for me but the flavor is good.
I also made this vegan chocolate frosting (I used rice milk and EB soy-free spread) which to my adult taste buds was very good but I don't know that it appeals as much to kids. More of a dark-chocolate flavor.
I was impressed with the end result of these two recipes though. I didn't feel deprived at all eating these cupcakes instead of Pillsbury.

I have LOTS of food allergies, and have discovered the cake mixes from this company: https://www.cherrybrookkitchen.com/
They are DELICIOUS! Some of my local stores stock them as well. Good luck!
