I want to start unswaddling DD this weekend probably. She'll be 3 months on Monday (I can't believe I'm moving to this board already!) and I want to get the unswaddled sleeping down before we start the Ferber method.
Currently I use Halo swaddlesacks and I can still use them in the transition before buying just a sleepsack by wrapping the "wings" around her tummy and leaving her arms out. My question is - should I put a long sleeved onesie on her underneath the swaddlesack since she's used to having her arms wrapped and warm?? We do use the a/c in our house right now plus the ceiling fan in DDs room on the lowest setting as it's been around 90 degrees each day. I don't want her to be cold because I feel like that could mess up the transition.
What do you all dress LO in to sleep when unswaddled??
Re: Unswaddling question
LO is dressed in a short sleeved onesie, a footed sleeper, and a sleeveless, lightweight sleep sack for bed. We keep our a/c pretty cool though - 70 deg. What I've read is that you should dress them in a way that mimics your own bed - so if you wear lightweight pjs and sleep with a sheet and a not-too-heavy-blanket, that would be three layers.
ETA: that would be three lightweight layers - that's what we go for, but again, our house is fairly cool.
I do either a short sleeve or long sleeve onesie underneath, no sleeper. I think she's best in the long sleeve but its hard because some evenings are so warm, but then she's cold by morning.
