December 2013 Moms

I'm not having wine tonight because....

...none of the bottles in my parents wine cellar are twist off.

hello lazy. This is how worn out I am after a day on the lake with my wild boys! Unwinding with hgtv instead. And secretly hoping my mom opens a bottle when she gets home ;)

AND I'm guessing the wine cellar is downstairs.  No one wants to walk stairs to get wine.

    Srsly. You're welcome baby

I'm confused...you said boyS, plural. Surely ONE of them can walk the stairs and grab an opener on their way back?

LOL I fully expected coming to this thread and seeing someone go all crazy about this. I'd kill for a glass of wine after today, except we just have Chardonnay and I HATE it.  :(

This is a very important life skill!
  • Okay, I'll bite. Back when I was pregnant with my first about 16 years ago my doctor encouraged me to have a glass of wine a day. I didn't but that was because there was not enough research on the topic. Now doctors know that drinking while pregnant can cause significant harm to a developing baby. I also know several people who drank while pregnant and their children are developmentally delayed. Really what good do you feel you are doing your baby by drinking? I realize that you may feel that you are stressed and what harm could one glass do? Maybe nothing at all but is it worth it to risk your baby's health and well being so you can drink?

Don't get me wrong; I love wine and I also loved smoking cigarettes. I quit three years ago when we started ivf after smoking for 17 years. Some things are more important than my vices. But I say go for it and sneak a beer into the hospital for an after celebration if you want.

Lol totally. And she probably forgot to mention that it might be abusive to make your children open wine bottles for you! Ha :]

No. Not really. She's an adult. She knows exactly what she's doing.

Well, plenty of adults make bad decisions and don't realize the consequences right away. Good luck and do whatever you feel is right for you and your baby.

Haha love the pic. Kate doesn't need to be so "parental". You can want a drink all you want and a sip won't devastate anyone nor a small glass on the occasional
