Does anybody's little one have a classic tricycle? Does s/he like it? Where'd you get it?
Or Are they passe now, in favor of balance bikes?
DH has been riding his bike lately and LO asked for something with pedals. He has an obscene number (like 5) of (hand-me-down) "cars" and "bikes" that you just push with your feet, but nothing with pedals. I'm trying to decide whether it might make sense or just add to the garage clutter.
Re: Tricycles?
DD has this we got her for Christmas. She rides on it but still can barely touch the pedals. I would say by the time she is 3 she will be able to really use it.

MIL got Nate a "twist trike" for Christmas. It lets you sit like a big wheel type one way and you can flip the seat over somehow to make it like a classic tricycle too. He likes to sit on it in the yard and push with his feet. LOL He's way too short to reach the pedals, even with the seat pushed up as far as it will go. ETA: They are super expensive I think! MIL found one on Craigslist!!
DS has a Thomas trike from TRU that he got for his bday. He can reach the pedals & the seat is adjustable, but he's not really that into it. He'd rather either ride in his firetruck that he pushes along with his feet, or just run around, lol.
Jack got this one for his 2nd birthday.
He loves it and is able to ride it really well. He actually rode it through the house a lot during the rainy spring. It's easy to just toss in the car and take to the park as well. We got ours on Craigslist for about 20. I'm actually a little confused about balance bikes. I like the concept of them, but couldn't you just get a regular bike and take the pedals off at first?

We have the same tricycle and I wonder the same thing as halo about the balance bike vs. regular bike without pedals.
DS asks to ride the trike often, but hasn't used it much and hasn't learned how to pedal. We got it for free a few weeks ago from a neighbor who was moving away to Germany.
We have both a balance bike and a trike. She isn't that into the balance bike yet, I plan to have her use that instead of training wheels. We got the trike from Sam's Club. It is a Schwinn and super nice.

Ava LOVES her tricycle and rides it everyday. As seen here:
Charlie just got this one in red today! He loves it, but can't figure out the peddles just yet. Hehe

Did you get it at Sam's? That's where my parents bought Ava's. So cute!
