Paragard , anyone?

I received my Paragard in early May. I didn't want to risk forgetting a form of BC and getting pregnant again. I also had horrible side effects to the shot years ago that I will never, in a million years, get that again. 

However.... I had one period 5 weeks PP and I have yet to have another. I stopped BFing at almost 3 months. LO will be 5 months Saturday. I'm sure that my body is still just adjusting, but it got me thinking as to whether Paragard is truly as effective as they claim. I have seen someone say that it isn't, but it's not any worse than other forms of BC.

Has anyone had first hand experience of it failing, or someone close to you having it fail?
