Thoughts?

in 1st Trimester

This is my first pregnancy and I am 5 weeks along. last week I had some brown spotting only when I wiped which resolved in a few hours.

Since yesterday however, I have had more spotting. It is a dark red/brown color, again it is primarily when I wipe, but there was also a small amount in the toilet a couple times. H and I did have sex yesterday, I have had a busy week, I noticed when I laid down for and a couple hrs the bleeding seemed to resolve, bur returned after going to the store.

I am going to call my OB tomorrow, I am just concerned, as I said this is my first pregnancy and Idk if this is still considered normal or concerning.

    Yea I would just call your OB and get seen as soon as u can. Hopefully all is well i'll be praying for u !

    When I was 5 weeks I spotted a light brown as well.  I ended up having sex and when I wiped there was a light blood spot.  I went to the Dr. and they said they brown staining is completely normal.  As for the blood it was due to sex.  They told me not to have sex during the first trimester.  I know some drs say its fine but I didnt want to take the risk.  They said brown spotting is old blood.  If you have heavy red blood and cramping involved def. see a Dr.  Good Luck!

    Yes, sex will make your cervix let off  a little blood. But to be safe, always call your OB!  Good Luck!

    Your doctor advises no sex in first tri? Never heard that before unless you are high risk or ordered pelvic rest.

    I bled a little after sex earlier in the pregnancy, but now there is no more :) If you were spotting before sex though, I would call the doc. It is possible to still have implantation bleeding in week five. Keep us posted and ill be sending you thoughts and prayers!
