DH update and PIPs

DH followed up with the doc today and they removed 13 staples from the outside of his elbow and probably the same from the inside of the elbow.  He also had 4 stitches in his face removed and some on the underside of his wrist.

They wired a plate into place in his wrist, new radial head in his elbow, reattached the ligaments in his elbow and had to put the bones back into place.

He is now in a wrist splint with finger/wrist exercises to do and goes back to OT next week.  He is also in a robo-elbow brace to limit movement for now.  Recheck in 3 weeks and back to work on light activity July 10th.

They took his huge cast off and he almost passed out afterword's.  He was sweating and felt lightheaded and dizzy.

He is still very swollen, but feels good & is off narcotics!

    Didn't see the 3, that makes it sooo much better! I know a guy with 4 daughters in their teens and early 20s, hes not scared of anything now.

    Yay for progress! Also the new robo arm brace looks pretty nifty. I'm sure it still sucks though. Fingers crossed for continuing smooth healing!

    Geez, that's quite an injury! Glad he's healing well. I'm sure he's glad to have a cast that he can take off when showering, that must have been a headache trying to keep it dry.

    What did he do? I had my radial head replaced and the ligaments repaired too. I later had to have the ulnar nerver released. I had the same feeling when they took the bandages off I thought I was going to pass out. It was the strangest feeling ever. It took about 5 mths , lots of physical therapy and a really strong anti inflammatory for me to get my range of motion back, But from what I understand I was an odd duck.... Hope he feels better soon.

    Odd duck that you had a full recovery?

    He fell 15 feet at work and landed on his elbow from what we can figure.

    No odd duck that I couldn't move my arm out of a 90 degree angle for 5 months and then as a last resort they gave me this really strong anti inflammatory for 3 days and everything started working again. For some reason my nerves just didn't want to heal or something. I fell off a chair trying to kill a spider on the ceiling and smashed my elbow pretty darn good. If they have it I highly suggest this electrode type therapy they did for me. Just doing the stretches made my swelling worse.
