Finally found the secret to keep my boys in their beds at nap at night...

I tell them that they have the option of sleeping in their beds where its comfortable OR outside in the grass in the backyard with the bugs...

 

Works every time.

 

Am I ruining their lives and future by threatening this or what?  Seriously though.

    What's your plan when they call you on it?

    Can you recruit your dh to sleep out there with them?

    Glad it works.  My kids would pick the yard.  Tongue Tied

    13 yr old boy with ASD, ADHD and PICA, 11 yr old boy, 3 yr old Girl, & baby Girl.

    My kid would totally pick the outside option. He loves dirt and bugs and it would be a dream come true to sleep with them.

    They have called me out. I picked up their pillows and got as far as opening the back door...they REALLY believed me at that point and ran back to their beds in a panic.

    Dh works outofstate MonThurs and doesn't know this new trick. He would more than likely tell me that threats are never a good option and the boys need to learn to stay in their beds bc they need to stay in their beds...
