We don't have it yet, but after using both in my car we are going with the nextfit. The installation was so easy, and it provides much more room behind the driver when compared to the radian. The other reason we are going with the nextfit is because we travel a good amount and we feel confident that we can get a quick and safe install in any car we choose to rent.

I just ordered the Nextfit from Target (20% off until Sunday!!). I obviously haven't tried it yet but all the reviews I have read on it have been great. I can't wait to try it out!
ETA: We have the Keyfit 30 too and loved it which was my main reason for wanting the nextfit.
You can't go wrong with either seat. Both are great for extended rear facing but I think the Nextfit does rf a little longer. I know the Nextfit says 1" below the top of the headrest and Radian is 1.5" and I think the seat height is similar. I am not sure how well the Nextfit is rated for a forward facing seat so you might want to look into that unless you already plan to buy a different seat for forward facing.
I went with the Radian because I use it for my 2yo and I like the low profile and it is really easy for him to climb in and out of it himself. When I pick him up to put him in/out of the seat it is also very easy for me since it isn't like the bucket of the Nextfit.
I didn't have any problems at all with installing our Radian. I watched a you tube video and read the instructions and it was very easy. We used the latch and DH kneeled in the seat while I tightened it. The only snag was that I couldn't find the tether's d-ring thing because it was still in the box. I searched every nook in that car seat before looking in the box for it
I just bought the Chicco Nextfit from Target at 20% off and free shipping this week too. I love Chicco! They're products are the best. I have their Key Fit car seat and the cortina travel system. Love it all! So easy to install and great quality. It all fits in my Mini Cooper too. The Nextfit looks awesome and has great reviews. I can't wait until it arrives. My DD is getting too heavy to carry around in the infant car seat.
My nextfits just got delivered!! I got them from Target. Great price. If you are going with it I would definitely suggest ordering it there! It was delivered in a few days!!
I can't compare the two, but we have the Radian. DH didn't have a hard time with the install, and like HMP, he watched videos and used the instructions that came with the seat.
It's definitely a tight fit in our little car, though. I posted a pic to IG of my knees up against the glove box in the front seat. We have a Nissan Sentra, and space is at a premium. I didn't know that the Chicco was known for fitting better in tight spaces, and kinda wish I'd explored that option. BUT... aside from the fit, I have no complaints about the Radian. A friend uses them for all of her kids and has been raving about them for years.
i'm a total lurker (dd was de in oct, but born in sep) so i'm sorry to jump in here...i'm hoping you'll come back to this thread...
i have a nissan sentra and i've had the hardest time finding anyone else who has one with a radian. Do you have the angle adjuster with the radian? i heard that can help it be much more upright. i have a tall husband and i'm trying to figure out what will work.

Do you only have one car seat in the back? If so, it might fit best in the middle.

I only have the one. I tried it in the middle at what I was guessing would be the right angle if I had an angle adjuster and it touched the drivers seat (which it's not allowed to do). I was hoping that maybe I just hadit at the wrong angle or something.
Did the Nextfit also fit into your Mini? I also have a Mini and the Key Fit car seat along with the stroller fit perfectly in my car. I'm a bit worried about the Nextfit. It looks great at the store, but seems sooo big! Since it's so new, I haven't really seen any reviews about it fitting in the Mini Cooper. Looking forward to hearing if you had any luck!

I'm a member of a big Car Seat fb group. I did a search and 3 people have posted in the last month about using a Nextfit in their Mini Cooper. One of the posters did say that the passenger seat is basically unusable now though. But unless you go with something really small like the Combi Coccoro that won't last very long because it is so small, you are probably going to have this problem in a Mini.
This is the same debate we're having! Our cars are a 2009 Infiniti QX56 and a 2006 Toyota Tacoma (double cab). Since we have baby #2 on the way, they have to hold the new convertible + the keyfit30. The QX is fine with either seat and we will probably get the nextfit for that car because it's dreamy. But....what about the Tacoma?? We have the keyfit in the middle now. Should we keep it there? The back seat is tight and we have a hard time getting her in and out of her seat already. The Radian would be easier to get in and out of, but if we put it in an outboard seat, it has less protection too. Thoughts?
