sleep habits

DD is sleeping less now and I am not sure if it is normal. She has some developmental delays so the wake up time clock will not work with her.
she used to sleep from 8 til 7 or 7:30. Now most nights she is wide awake and plays in her crib til 8:30 and then is up at 6 am. She usually gets in an hour and a half nap around 11 because she has therapy in the morning and is exhausted by then. She almost never needs an afternoon nap though.

How long does your 2 year old sleep and when is bedtime and wake up time?, I am not sure if it is normal for her to be sleeping less or if I should encourage more sleep?

Re: sleep habits

  • My daughter has been a pretty good sleeper, but will go through phases where she'll wake up at 6-6:30 for no apparent reason and she'll do it for a week at a time and then go back to her normal routine. Maybe that's what this is? Kids are weird, lol

  • During the week my DS goes to bed around 8:30 falls asleep anywhere from (9-9:30) and then wakes up at 6:30 (for daycare) on the weekends he sleeps till about 8 am but goes to bed closer to 9ish (it usually takes him about 45 minutes to fall asleep).

In the afternoon he has about 1-1.5 hour nap

  • sounds about normal. My dd sleeps 830p-830a and 1.5hr nap at 2. she's 23mos
