Did the Zofran stop working?

This is my first mobile post, so please forgive me for any mess ups. Sometimes when I go to the site on my laptop, I get a virus warning... Anyone else?

Anyway, I feel like the Zofran hasn't been working the past couple days. I'm taking a 4mg Zofran every 7 hours, but only twice a day, usually 9am and 4pm. I see no need to take it right before bed I'm also taking I think, 300mg of docosate sodium stool softener, just a generic a night and the occasional milk of magnesia. And prenatal, of course

Could there be something I'm doing that is canceling the Zofran out? Is my morning sickness just peaking? I didn't really feel out of morning sickness last time until closer to 1618 weeks, so I'm expecting the same.

What do you think the nurse might tell me if I called her in the morning? Just deal with it? Could she prescribe something else, or a higher prescription?

I found at my worst, zofran only helped about ten percent, phenergan helped ten percent, losec helps 10 percent and then eating very small snacks helped about ten percent. I still felt like *** most of the time, sorry!

I'm lying awake at this hour because I am taking zofran around the clock and I still don't feel good. : so I'm right there with you.

I agree with the other poster. It helps about 10 just enough to allow me to function. But I still feel rotten. I know that probably doesn't help too much but at least we are miserable together!

It does get better though! I thought it never ever would, but I am now 12 weeks I still take zofran every now and then, and I still feel quite sick, but I'm throwing up a lot less, and can almost ignore it most of the time.
I think it is important to follow your drs advise, I was told to take zofran 3 times a day, so I took it at 7am, about lunch time then about 4 or 5pm, then take phenergan as soon as I got home from work about 8pm. Good luck!

I'm perscribed 8 mg pills to be taken every 6 to 8 hours. Unfortunately, Zofran has never cured my morning sickness. At its best, it prevents vomiting, not nausea. Usually it just takes the edge off. Good luck!

Like pp said, zofran just helps take the edge off for me but doesn't stop the nausea. I found phenergan to help my nausea a lot more but it knocks me out so I only take it if I am absolutely miserable and can sleep for hours after taking it.

You more than likely need the 8mg dosage. I take that. I have times it works great and then I have times it doesn't do anything but make me feel like a bloated mess.

My nurse has been prescribing the 8mg Zofran to be taken every 8 hours. Because I am 12 weeks today and hoping it is wearing off, I take one at 9am and again at 5pm, but not at 1am anymore because I am always asleep by then and I wake up feeling okay. As the others have said, with my experience it keeps me from throwing up, but more often than not I am still quite nauseated.

Zofran actually did help me to stop throwing up, but didn't take away the nausea feeling. However, for me it caused extreme constipation. I made a decision last night I would rather pooh than not hurl, so this morning was my first morning to not take Zofran in over 2 weeks. Needless to say the first thing I did when my toes hit the ground was run to the bathroom to throw up. But I can't take the constipation anymore.
Sorry you're so sick. You're def. not alone. I hope you find your relief.

I've never taken Zofran, but I just wanted to say sometimes I get that virus warning too! I just close the webpage and reopen

This is common from what i've seen - it seems to work better on the nausea when its mild, but as it gets worse, the zofran does more for the vomiting but not for the nausea. I'm sorry your feeling so sick, its not fun! I agree with PP about stacking several methods (zofran, phenergen, reglan, B6/unisom, seabands, etc). And just know that most women start to feel better around week 12 or so, so hopefully it starts to ease up soon for you!

I took Phenergan before I took Zofran and one of the side effects listed was nausea, so for me, it didn't work. Last time, I felt like I tried everything but prescriptions and nothing worked, so I went right to the prescriptions this time. (well, after I tried some B6)

I have told people that I love Zofran because I'm not throwing up all the time, and I think it doesn't necessarily make me feel that much better, but it allows me to eat, which I couldn't do last time. I just can't believe how horrible I'm still feeling. I get worse throughout the day. My husband gave me a 10pm bedtime because he knows I want to be in bed at that time, and because he wants to play his video game without me bugging him. LOLOL
