Ugh! I am so frustrated. DD stopped crying but state standing in her crib for over 30 minutes. DH said it was getting too late. I went in to lay her down and she started crying again. 2 hours later I still have a baby who won't go to sleep and a DH who thinks I am making ish up.
Re: CIO Fail
However we are back to square one with cranky baby due to damn teeth. I am confident that things will get back to normal though.
I really hope your LO sleeps soon.
We are having issues again because of teeth too! He was sleeping so good now it's shiz again. Hang in there and keep trying!
Yikes. I think that before you try again, you and DH should get a couple of the main CIO books, read them, and decide on a strategy together.
You can read up on the Ferber method, the Weissbluth (extinction) method, and the Sleep Easy Solution.
Personally, for an easy read that explains EXACTLY what you should do for CIO, I recommend the Sleep Easy Solution.
My library had all these books - I just had to put them on hold and they were waiting for me on the shelf within a day or two! Also, FWIW, I don't have a video monitor, but there are times I just know Charlotte is standing in her crib. Eventually, she sits down and goes to sleep on her own - which is the goal!
One more thing!!
If you're waiting to go borrow or buy those books, the best online primer to CIO is the sleep training series on Troublesome Tots. Go here: https://www.troublesometots.com/cry-it-out/
This is really most of what you need to know. It also doesn't take long to read. Might be good for your DH to check out even before you dive into longer books.
If you tried it again in a few weeks, you may have better success. [Not unless you have a lo like mine who will cry himself to the point of puking...]
This, exactly. Please read the books and make a solid plan.
Our first night was almost 3 hours too. The second night was 2ish. Third night was an hour and a half. Then, it got miraculously better.
Hang in there!
SCANDAL!
