HG and the Reglan pump

Are any of you ladies suffering from HG? If so, has your OB talked about the Reglan pump or Zofran pump? My OB hasn't come out and said I have HG, but he has already referred me for the pump.

Ugh, I just want to be able to eat and stop losing weight. I'm already down 20 lbs.

TIA

Re: HG and the Reglan pump

  • yes but it was 120 a day. so since i couldnt afford that i am on a new med called remeron or remeral... dont remember the exact name but it has helped a bunch. i was severely dehydrated and lost a bunch of weight too... but with this i was peeing again like normal in about 3 days. good luck!

  • Luckily I was able to get it under control without the pump, but we discussed it.  I know a lot of the ladies from the HG board on babycenter have used the zofran pump and have seen lots of positives about it.  Although, a lot of them also talked about getting welts from the application sites.  I think one of the other factors is to see if your insurance will cover it and such because it sounds like it can be really pricey otherwise.

I hope you get some relief soon!

I had a zofran pump for a week and it made me feel worse....they switched me to reglan and I had the one reaction that they warn you about and it put me in the hospital..... Zofran usually gives u a constant headache which made nausea worse for me and the welts are awful...took two weeks for them to go away after I stopped the pump....it's hard to sleep bc of the site being so painful.  I would ask about vit b6 and unisom ( sorry if I sound like a broken record to those who have read my suggestions before) but seriously HG sucks and that has been my only relief.  I also had home IV fluids for a week which if you aren't throwing up can really help.

also....I had no idea there was a whole HG board!!! That would have helped so much!

Agree with bold - I was and am amazed at how much that has helped.  You'll still have bad days, but I had more "ok" times as well.

  • Thanks ladies :)

This is my 4th pregnancy, but I've never had any morning sickness until now and I feel like I'm getting it tenfold. I tried the unisom and b6 already, but no relief. My insurance wants me to stay on the Zofran tabs for another week or so before they'll authorize the pump. I just hope I don't lose too much more weight.
