Low-T dads.

If you were on hormone therapy before TTC for low-T, then went off when you decided to TTC, what happened?

H has been on Clomid for awhile and now he'll be switching to the implant, as the Clomid has done nothing for his levels. We're planning on TTC in 3-4 years and I'm afraid that in 3-4 years, his sperm count will be depleted and we will not be able to bring it back up (which I've read happens often).

I already have problems carrying as well.

AE for obvious reasons. My bump name is personalized.

    This sounds like a question for his doctor who is prescribing the Clomid, and possibly a fertility specialist as well.

    Only use I knew of Clomid was getting women with PCOS to ovulate more regularly (and often leads to multiples).

    Is there a reason the doctor isn't trying something different? if the Clomid hasn't done anything, to me logic would say to try something different. DH has really low T..like 70 year low- T....@150. We finally found this out after #2 was conceived. He started on Adrogel which seems to have definitely helped. The last time he was checked he was in the 300s. That said, he doesn't use it consistently so I'm sure that plays a part. We definitely don't want him to have to use an injection either because of the effects....tons of hormone at once and then the crash in a couple weeks. it can cause aggression among other things.

    Has the doctor looked into what the cause of your DH's low-T is? That's the big thing on my mind. We have a couple ideas, but for a young guy to have a low-T I have very strong feelings about finding out the root cause since it's not normal.

    So since you are looking to conceive in that many years, I would certainly make it my mission to find out why it's low and see if there isn't a fix for that.
