Worth it to pump for relief?

DS is 4 days old and does not even come close to emptying one side, I am so full. Is it going to do more harm than good if I pump for a few min? I never had this problem with my other kids.

Thanks

if you are so engorged that your breast is hard, you should pump for relief (until it feels like normal tissue again to the touch).  If not you might get a clogged duct or mastitis which NO FUN.  If you pump a lot, your breast will just replace it.  if you pump just for comfort/relief, you won't really increase your supply.
