Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Let's talk naps milk

My LO is 10 months and sleeps 12 hours at night. She used to nurse ever 3 hours but I feel like she's stretching to 4 hours now. Also, she was napping every 2 hours during the day for 1 to 2 hours with a 3 to 4 hour awake stretch in the evening, but now I think she wants to be up for 2.5 hours instead. How often does your LO nurse and sleep?

Re: Let's talk naps milk

  • That seems normal to me. DS is a little younger than yours, but has recently started stretching out time between his naps to 3 or 4 hours occasionally (especially at daycare where he his distracted - at home on weekends I think he's trying to catch up and sleeps more). He also used to nurse/get a bottle about every 3 hours, but is now trying to drop a bottle at DC, so its closer to every 4. He does eat 3 solid meals and gets a snack in the afternoon, though, so he's actually eating much more often than that.

This is exactly how my DS is right now. Now that he's way more active, his day doesn't totally revolve around eating and sleeping anymore. It's actually nice, because we have more freedom to get out and have fun.

  • E is a little over 9 months.

A typical day for us is something like 6 am wake up and nurse, breakfast around 7:00, nap at 8:30ish, nurse upon waking (10:30ish), lunch around 12, nurse before nap around 1:30, nurse around 5:00, dinner at 6:00, nurse before bed at 7.... and then usually a wake up or two over night with some nursing.
