There's a huge media rival here between social networks and the local news station here today. At the fireworks last night, multiple rounds of shots were fired, causing SWAT and what not to be called in. Apparently, hundreds of people were running down the riverfront and from the plaza, trampling strollers, people, kids, etc. The police department is claiming there were no shots fired and was no evidence of such (because a few years ago, the fireworks were known for gang fights, so everyone stopped going, causing the city to lose huge $$$ - so last year they went on a "safety campaign," convincing everyone they had it under control, the fireworks went smoothly, so a lot more people went this year, like hundreds more).
The catch? There are TONS of cell phone videos where you can hear shots being fired, people screaming "gun!," blood on the sidewalk, etc. So, there is solid proof, eyewitnesses, and still the police refuse to admit there was a breach in their "awesome" security. The news station is, of course, reporting what the DPD says.
ETA: Every city has it's issues. We just have a bunch of idiots in ours.

Just watching some tv and just ate some ice cream. We just got word our friends are in the hospital to have their baby! She got to sent after her doc appt. DH just went to let out their dog, I'm sure I will be checking my phone all night waiting for news!
DS is cutting 3 top teeth and is a monster I'm hoping the Advil lasts for the full time so we all get some sleep!
Watching the end of SYTYCD - about to go to bed because I'm exhausted! Almost done with teaching in the mornings.
DS went to sleep right away tonight - SCORE!
I got an e-mail today about our reintegration workhshop -- information/help/support about expectations/life when DH comes home. I can't believe I have this date on my calendar - ah!! That means the end is in sight!!!!!!!!!! Can't stop smiling!!!!11!!!
I know! It's a weakness...
But I would have to run to the store [two min away] and that would mean sticking J in the car. He's sooo happy right now, walking around the house...I don't want to ruin his fun.
Just popping in for a minute before I go to bed. DH and I are watching America's Got Talent and finished the cookies & cream ice cream we had in our freezer.
I think I'm going to start crocheting a hat for my nephew tomorrow but I can't decide which pattern to do first. If I have red yarn I'll work on a Very Hungry Caterpillar one, I think.
Nothing interesting to report from today. It's the first day we haven't been around at least one of our parents since Friday so it has been amazing to have the night just to ourselves!
By the way, sorry about the Detroit craziness!

Nursing DS now then going for a walk with a friend. Good day today. BOTH kids took afternoon naps!!! DD for about 2 hours and DS for 3 hours 15 minutes. It was AMAZING having all that quiet alone time. I'm just so glad DS slept since his morning nap was only 40 effing minutes and he had shiit sleep last night. These top teeth need to come out soon. My poor baby and I need our rest!

DD is sleeping even better than normal lately. I'm thinking its because being more mobile is wearing her out. Dreading the next tooth I'm sure is coming soon that will ruin the good sleep.
Here as well. Watching Oz the Great and Powerful. It is just reaffirming how much I cannot stand James Franco.
We are also crunching numbers and adjusting our budget because we put in an offer on a house that got accepted yesterday! We weren't planning on moving until September but it looks like we will be closing the end of July. Exciting and terrifying.
The stomach flu came through my house since Saturday night, started with Rosie puking the crib twice, then to me all Sunday night til yesterday, now James started it last night and all day and night today. I've never washed so many sheets, blankets, towels and washcloths. Yesterday I spent 20 on bleach, Lysol, hand sanitizer and Clorox cleanup!
Hoping and praying my oldest 2 sneak by without getting the funk.
I may tell my husband to keep driving East if this stuff is still in the house on Friday.
The meeting is in August. I don't know for sure when he's coming home. Sometime this fall (so 3-4 months).
Yuck! Hopefully no one else gets it. Hope you and the babies are feeling better.

I just found out another friend is pregnant- that makes 3 pregnant friends. I'm starting to think things I shouldn't so I'm looking for fun vacations.

I'm here. It took forever to get Em to bed because he napped in the car on the way home from Joaquin's baseball game.
We somehow have this kitten from across the street in our house. Its chillin at my feet. My husband is a sucker when it comes to baby animals. The kitten belongs to the neighbor boy but he's not home but half the time and he's staying here now, I guess.
I have a cough that hurts my ribs and my throat is on fire but I'm still the least sick person in this house. And I'll probably be missing work again tomorrow for baby care.
MY LIFE IS SO HAAAAARRRRD.
Seriously y'all, I might quit my job if I don't get pushed out first. I have no desire to be a SAHM but it has been 10mos of fail at work since DD's arrival. I just actually can't get this work done and have a family. Some days I think it would be a relief if my boss would offer a severance package for me to move on.
Yay!!! I remember getting the email with the stop mail date in it and wanting to literally jump up and down with giddiness and excitement... but I didn't, seeing as how I was super pregnant. The end is near and will be here before you even know it...hang in there

I meant to write a post earlier about my day, but my phone magically erased what I was typing. Long story short: J has ringworm on his butt, roseola, and is teething. Uh, most cranky guy EVER!
After he went to sleep I felt defeated. I went, and fell into my bed. Then SO textedme that he was coming home, and I should go out becausw I had a rough day.
Now i should be going to bed. It has been a day.
