New baby

I have a 9yo step daughter, she's really mature for her age, we get along great, have her about 40 percent of the time. No recent major issues with BM, her and DH coparent fairly well.

I am due in September, BM is trying to conceive. SD is excited about being a big sister, but I worry once the baby is here she'll feel a little displaced. Looking for suggestions on keeping her special, I'm not sure if I should just involve her lots with the baby and in the big sister role, or try and give her lots of one on one baby free time.

    Involving her and playing up her role as a big sister and it's responsibilities in a positive way will help her adjust. And remember if she's jealous or feels displaced...that's normal. Just don't ignore it. Work with her on it and have conversations where she talks about her feelings, and you do mostly listening and re-assuring can help.
