1st Trimester

Nausea

I'm about 6 weeks and nausea has been pretty bad for two days now. This is my first pregnancy so if anyone has any tips let me know. I eat pretty healthy and primarily organic and I don't drink soda. But, the past few days I have drank several sprites and just ate whatever didn't make my stomach hurt worse. I just feel awful :/ I want to eat like I usually do but I just can't... Any advice would be great! Thanks ladies!!

Re: Nausea

  • Ginger snaps, ginger brews, ginger smells, ginger ale, I guess the key is ginger. They even sell supplements you can take (of course check w your doc).

  • I'm 7 weeks, drinking water makes me feel nauseous until after about 6 or 7 pm, so I've been drinking half water half orange juice with tons of ice and that has helped me. Whatever you can get down just go for it.
  • I've been super lucky as far as nausea goes - I've only had a day or two where I felt slightly nauseous, but never thought I was going to throw up.  On those days though all I wanted was lemonade and it really helped.  There's something about the tartness I think.  Preggie Pops are all tart/sour flavors, so I'm thinking there's some logic there.  I've actually wished I had MS a couple times just because it would be reassuring to have the symptom.  Crazy, I know!!!

In any event, I do hope you feel better!!!

  • I know, I told myself if some MS means a healthy pregnancy I'll deal with it. But. It's not fun :/ I picked up some crackers, soups, and drinks that will hopefully help! I also got some fruit Popsicles that are natural. I'm gonna call my doctor and ask if I can take some ginger supplements. Hopefully in a few days this will go away!! Thank you for your help ladies!

Honesty, 1st tri was all about survival for me.  I couldn't eat any meats, fruits, or veggies and lived primarily off of curly fries.  I didn't start gaining weight until I got into my 2nd tri and started eating healthier again.  Honestly, eat/drink what makes you feel better.  As long as you can keep your prenatal down, your LO is getting everything that he/she needs.

THIS. all very true for me and I agree 100%!!

  • Sea-bands worked really well for me during my first pregnancy. I also drank ginger ale and just are whatever I appealed to me and that I could keep down. I also used Preggie Pops.

*(This is my second pregnancy, and I'm not far enough along for M/S yet, but I've already ordered some Preggie Pops and I'm digging out my old Sea-bands Smile)
