I am having a skype date tonight with my bestie who lives back in Wisconsin (DH and I moved to DC a year and a half ago.) She is about 19 weeks pregnant with her first and I am going to do my very very best to talk nursery themes and crap like that with her without totally losing my shyt. 

She knows about our struggles and I was actively miscarrying our first at their wedding last July (that was one helluva night to get through). I know I can cry to her and she is very supportive but I'd like just ONE of our chats about her pregnancy to end with me not being a total hot mess.

    I know you can do this!

    1) You love her.  Just think about how happy you are for her as a person.  How much she deserves it.  How happy she will be for you.

    2) She will understand that it is hard for you.  It's ok if you cry - she's your BFF.

    I have a BFF who just had a baby right around one of my EDD's and a sister-in-law who is expecting, so I am struggling to be more supportive myself.

    I know how hard that is, my SIL had her baby a month to the day after my EDD and they used to profess how much they never wanted to have children! I tried to be supportive but their easy breezy oops pregnancy made me furious despite myself...

    Wishing you lots of strength!!! I'm sure she's conscious of how awkward this situation is for you and doesn't want to make it anymore more difficult for you. Just enjoy time with your bestie!!

    My bestie is long distance too...I'm in Oklahoma & she's in Florida....never thought of skyping Big Smile thx for the idea!!

    Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

     After a much needed sanity break... we are praying for our rainbows

    I can understand how hard that is.  I don't really have any advice, but I can commiserate. A couple of weeks ago I met up with a very long time friend who I only see once a year.  She is due in August and didn't know I'd had a M/C.  I texted her the day before we got together to let her know what was going on in case I broke down in tears.  She was very understanding and told me that, if that happened, she would cry with me.

    thanks for all the support ladies! I did amazeballs and was even enthused about her bump. Happily I have reached the end of the internet when it comes to babies so I was able to answer some questions she had.
