Red spots around mouth and chin

For the past month Logan has had some red bumps around his mouth and chin. First we thought he was having an allergic reaction to the Babyganic's sun block I use on him when we go out but then I stopped using it and noticed it still is happening. My grandmother said it's just a normal reaction from his drool and food on his face bc he has sensitive skin. Anyone else noticing their little one with this reaction and any idea what is causing it?

  • DS has the same thing going on. He's had sensitive skin since he was born (so do I). His pediatrician said the same thing your grandma did; just reaction from his drool and the suction between his drool and pacifier.

I just try to keep it as dry as possible, which is next to impossible when your kid is teething.

  • Thanks everyone for letting me know it is normal. I was getting nervous since it wasn't going away. I will also make sure to monitor his citric acid intake and wipe his face good after eating. He has been loving pineapple lately, which probably irritates his mouth too. :(
  • Mine had that, went to ped who said food related then it didn't go away so I went to Dermatologist who said eczema and after the cream she ordered its gone. She said lots of moisturizer bc of the pool, teething he is all dried out.
