S/O Clomid monitoring

I got a positive OPK yesterday afternoon on CD13 (FWIW, I have never ovulated before CD17). I had my monitoring appt. this morning on CD14. We were hoping to see a "juicy follicle" (my doc's words) this morning, but no dice. So either I ovulated sometime last night/this morning or I didn't respond at all to the Clomid. Obviously we'll HIO tonight and tomorrow in case I did ovulate, and then I'll have 7dpo bloodwork next week to check P4 levels to see which way things went this month.

I'm just feeling a bit defeated right now, even though I probably shouldn't be. Sometimes you just want to see results damnit.  If anyone feels like handing out some head pats and "it'll be okays" they'd be appreciated.

    I'm sorry...

    It sounds though like you aren't being fully monitored while on clomid.  Otherwise, you should have known sooner how the follies looked, or if you weren't growing any.  I haven't taken clomid yet, but I believe you're supposed to get monitored with ultrasounds on CD3 and CD 12 at minimum.  Some people go more often, and it can depend on what insurance coverage you may have...but if you are putting your body through clomid, I would recommend getting monitored more closely in order to be sure you are not wasting time and energy.  At least ask them to check you on CD12 (not wait for OPK) to check your lining and follies.  Are you seeing an RE for this?

    I had a monitoring appt on CD12 last cycle and it was too early. CD12 this time was on a Sunday, and I was out of town on Monday so I couldn't go in until today. I am seeing an OBGYN, but the practice is affiliated with an IF office where he also works.

    Problem: Irregular menstruation, unexplained
    Nov&Dec-Provera because of no period after 35+ days
    First RE appt 1/10/2013
    Tests: TSH (normal), Prolactin (normal), SA (abnormal)
    Hysteroscopy (normal) and PCOS labs (negative/normal) 1/15/2013
    2/1/13- HPT BFP but Beta Hcg was negative
    Plan: Femara + Trigger + IUI in April if no real BFP before then Bloggy Blog!

    If you just ovulated, they would have seen it on the ultrasound.  The follicle would have looked like a deflating balloon.

    TTC since 3/2011 Adenomyosis, LPD, hypothyroidism. 
    BFP on 7/20/12 after 4 cycles Clomid + IUI 
    2 large subchorionic hematomas & no heartbeat at 7w6d   
    D&E 8/18/12 Sonohysterography found septum and necrotic tissue.   
    Hysteroscopy to remove both 10/5
    IUI #5-7 50mg Clomid + trigger = BFN  
    IUI #8 Femara + Bravelle + HCG + Progesterone = BFP 3/27/13
    Beta 1 (13dpo) = 169  Beta 2 (17dpo) = 1073  No heartbeat at 9w3d. 
    D & C 5/10/13  Triploidy 69 (paternal inherited)
    IVF #1 with ICSI and PGS 11R 8M 5F 2 biopsied/frozen
    PGS results = 1 with trisomy 13 & 1 good embryo for FET 
    FET #1 EV, estrace, nitro patches.  Cancelled due to thin lining
    FET #1.2 oral estrace, f'ing nitro patches and no delestrogen.  Transfer 12/31. BFN
    PAIF/SAIF welcome
    Surprise BFP on 6/13/14  Our only unmedicated bfp ever.
    Beta #1 339  Beta #2 649 44 hour doubling time

    Yeah, that just sucks then.  It's the most frustrating when you can't get clear answers on things.
