Anyone else?

So, I am going to call my doctor later and schedule an appointment (hopefully I can see him before my next one in 2 weeks), but I have redness, warmth, and an orange peel type appearance to the lower aspects of both breasts. Has anyone else noticed this or do I have inflammatory breast cancer? Of course, my peer reviewed journal article searching has gone mad over the past few hours and its either cancer (in both breasts and during pregnancy and it's inflammatory, which are ALL rare) or it's mastitis or normal changes.

my money is on "normal changes" still of course get it checked out. but my boobs I am telling you...I don't know whose they are because they certainly are not mine! I don't even recognize them!

I concur! These things are just out of control. I mean, not just size wise, but shape, color, texture, everything! I feel like an alien.

Do you have any type of padding in your bra at all? I wore a bra I don't normally wear and at the end of the day I thought my breasts were going to fall off. Turns out the bra had some weird type of insert inside of the fabric that was really affecting my skin and was preventing the material from breathing properly.

No. I wake up with it and its there all day. I don't always wear a bra to sleep.

  • My husband is a doctor. Before I met him, I would look up any symptom I was having on WebMD...guess what...it always had a chance of cancer. He told me a quote he was taught in med school...when you hear hooves, think horse, not zebra. Meaning look for a common explanation, not some exotic diagnosis. I would bet on normal pregnancy changes. Tons of weird things are happening to our bodies right now...don't let your mind jump to something so extreme especially before consulting with your doctor.

I'm a nurse practitioner, so I'm not googling or looking on WebMD, and I know he's right, but bad things also happen when you start dismissing symptoms. I'm anxiously awaiting 9am...

  • I mean, I'm sorry you have weird changes going on, and I hope your doc can provide some answers, but please don't be flippant about breast cancer.

It's a sensitive subject for those of us who have lost mothers and loved ones. Sorry to be a Debbie downer. Whomp whomp.

I've lost a grandmother to breast cancer...hence my increased concern for myself.

Call your doctor. He/She can tell you better than any of us on this forum. Get an appointment. If you are that worried make sure to let them know your concerns so they can fit you in sooner.

That is my advice to you- coming from a doctor.

  • I have this! I just noticed it yesterday!! It think it may be heat rash w my sports bra since that's all that feels comfortable now.. But I'm keeping an eye on it

Yanno, I'm a big fan of checking with the doc when something is freaking you out. My mother and her mother both had breast cancer and I definitely call the doc if/when I find something.

Let us know how it goes. Thinking of ya

  • I had one grandmother with breast cancer and one with uterine cancer, and somehow they both beat it when people weren't beating it and lived long lives, but I'm just waiting for the day when I get it.  I understand the worry and agree with you about ignoring symptoms.  I hope everything turns out perfectly and it's just a reaction to something you've been around or a hormonal pregger thing.  T&Ps headed your way.

  • Does it burn and smell? This happens to me when they don't get enough air. I treat with airing them out and tea tree oil. It is a yeast type thing.
