Hello ladies,
So I'm 19w 1d. I started at 150 im 5'9, and when I weighed myself this morning I'm 165. 15 pound weight gain. That seems a little high. I'm so worried about gaining so much and not being able to loose it afterwards. The thing is I'm Way hungrier now that I'm pregnant. But it's not like I'm going overboard with eating. I've upped my calories about 300. Sometimes I go over. Is there something I could be doing different to slow down my weight gain? I was thinking maybe yoga or swimming. Or should I stop weighing myself and let what happens happen?
Re: Weight worries!
Thank you. That is good advice.

My appointment is tomorrow I'll talk to them. Thanks!
The only time I weigh myself is at the doctor's office every four weeks.
Exercising while pregnant has numerous benefits, but don't look at it as a weight loss tool right now. Use it to build strength, flexibility and for stress relief.
If it seriously bothers you then put the scale away and like PPs said only weigh yourself at the doctor. You can even do that without looking if you prefer. Your body will do what it needs to do and every person is different. Do not compare yourself and hang in there.

This!
I gained 80 lbs my first pregnancy, which is not healthy by any means and I do not suggest doing so yourself, but I lost it all by the time I got pregnant with #2. Just try to eat healthily and exercise and enjoy the ride. You'll lose it after the baby is born.
Yeah, but we live in a weight-obsessed society where we are surrounded by images of the ideal pregnancy (all belly, no other gain) and the notion that losing the baby weight in six weeks is "normal." It can be hard to see these changes and of course, with excess weight gain comes risks. Seeing these posts often doesn't surprise me in the least.
I weighed myself today. I've gained 13.8 lbs in 20 weeks, according to my scale. Everything online says I've gained too much, but that seems silly to me. I had no sickness in 1st tri and was wicked hungry. I gained fast then.
At my last OB appt, she said I had only gained 2 lbs since the previous appt and joked that I wasn't eating. My scale at home said otherwise. I am going for my next 4 week appt tomorrow so we'll see what they show as weight gain. I'm not worried as long as the doctor isn't worried. And I trust their scale more than mine at home.
