People...this is the sh!t I'm dealing with when trying to find daycare for my son and why he's 32 on a waitlist for a good one.
https://www.teddyhugsdaycare.com
At first glance, not so bad....but then...
The owner's bio:
Hi my name is Mrs Colette I been doing childcare for 9yrs in the
public school system as a teacher assistant. My daycare have been open
since 2010. I'm cpr and infant certified, I hold multiple degrees form
two colleges a B.A. in Sociology/Criminal Justice, Masters in Education,
and a Masters M.B.A in Managment.
Feel free to post your favorite gem from this upstanding daycare.
Re: what I'm dealing with
Creepy, creepy couple!
Also, how on Earth did she graduate "form" college?!
Seriously!!!! She has two Master's Degrees?! My arse! I wanna see a transcript. And before anyone jumps on the maybe she has dyslexia bandwagon or something...if that's the case then perhaps she should have someone write or review her writing for her business. Gah!
Time to research if anyone on the waitlist daycare's board has ties to my company or vice versa. LOL

I browsed the website, and there were more typos. I thought it was odd that they offer care overnight and deployment care. I mean do they literally keep your child while you're deployed? It made me uneasy ...
I can understand overnight care, I guess, but deployment care? WTF
I am seriously creeped out.
I thought the same. What does that even mean?
I canunderstand the overnight care. We have a few 24 hrs daycares around here. The deployment care threw mer
Don't get me wrong, he's well taken care of where he is. It just can't compare. Not by a long shot.
Just asked DH and he and I agree that the army probably wouldn't deploy a soldier who didn't have anyone to care for his/her children. And I sure as heck wouldn't send my kid there for a year
What is so great about the DC you're waiting for? Just curious. Is it normal for places to have crazy wait lists like that? I guess if my choices were the crazy teddy place and someplace else I'd definitely choose anyplace else.
The testimonials are also riddled with errors.
I really dislike the name of this daycare.
They have a lot of organizational info on their site, but not much details. Too bad because if they did I'd have put him on the waitlist long before.
Not normal for that long a list but it's one of only three in the area that have a certain accreditation, so...
ETA: I guess you edited out your specific ? about where he is waitlisted Mrs R so disregard the first line.

Did anyone look at the photos? The captions are hilarious. Under the picture of a boy falling asleep/crying in a swing:
AT THE PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M GETTING TRIED I STILL A INFANT
I can't stop laughing right now. DF asked why I was laughing so hard, and I had to explain that I was looking at a website for a crazy day care in VA....
I just realized there was music. Creepy music.
ETA - I have a good friend with two little ones in daycare in Hampton... is that close enough to where you are? I could get the info from her...

thanks, but no. On the other side of the water.
Um what is the Spanish alaphat? What are colorers? As bad as the site is, the "testimonials" are even worse!
I lol'd at that picture too... then a few pics later the baby at the piano. "The next Beethoven" with a pizza menu in the music holder.

Ok. So after reading all your responses, I had to look at the site. I am horrified! This is awful and gives me the heebie jeebies.
Everyone. He was really busy.
I love that his bio has a build up of " a few things about" and there is only one thing.
The photos all look like family snapshots and I don't believe for one second they aren't somehow related to them.

What What.
This is one learning curriculum I wouldn't recommend.
