Co-Sleeping

How long did you co-sleep with baby? i received an Arms Reach co sleeper that attaches to the beach and was wondering how long i should have him sleep in it before i put in in his nursery. thanks!

Re: Co-Sleeping

  • Do what works. SIDS prevention guidelines say keep baby in the room up to 6 months, but a lot of people go longer or shorter than that.

  • I don't think there is a hard and fast rule.

We used the attached cosleeper (homemade) for 9 or 10 months, then in our bed for 2 months. Then we upgraded our bed and put our old mattress on the floor next to it and I usually slept down there with her until she was 2.5yrs old. Then we moved that mattress into her room and I slept with her in there.  A little before 3yrs old, I started sleeping the first half of the night in my (our) room again, but still end up with her the second half.
