Stl moms, who are you or have you seen for your natural births? I saw a post a few weeks ago that recommended Missouri Baptist... If you had a good experience with a natural birth do you remember your nurses name?
Jessica Henman (may have spelled her last name wrong) just opened a birth center in the O'Fallon area. We used her with my first until there was a complication. We ended up having a csection at St. Anthony's because our LO was frank breech. Jessica was great and if you are looking for a midwife I would suggest her. There are 2 others that we interviewed and they attend homebirths. I can't remember their names but I am sure a google search will pull them up. I use Dr. Gosser at St. Anthony's and if you are looking for an OB he is amazing. He is very patient and took me on at 26 weeks. He never said a negative word about our previously planned homebirth and he frequently backs area midwives with patients who are in that position. (with complications) He is also on staff at St. Clair and St. John's(mercy). I have heard lots of great things about MoBap.
Jessica Henman at The Birth and Wellness Center. I really like her. My boys were both born at Barnes, which I would not recommend if you are looking for a natural birth. It wasn't bad, just not an ideal setting for having a natural birth (with my first, my nurse actually laughed when I told her I wanted to go without drugs and then told me, "WHEN you get your epidural..."). I also have heard good things about Mobap.
I'm going to MoBap tomorrow to have my LO and planning a med-free birth. My OB is also located at MoBap--Dr. Margaret Rempe. She. is. awesome. Even MH raves about her, which is saying something! She is 100% supportive of my wishes for natural childbirth.

I see Jennifer Meyer at Metropolitan OBGYN. We've been impressed with her so far, very supportive of our natural birth plan. She went over our birth plan with us, offered suggestions or her point of view on things/things to think about, but never once has told us "no, that can't happen" or "no, we're doing it this way". I'll be delivering at MoBap. We really liked the tour and were impressed w/ all of the options for a natural birth there. We're due at the end of August, so fingers crossed things work out the way we're hoping!

"If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown, my promise to you is you're never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."
I'm currently a patient of Jessica Henman. I'm 2 days overdue and still hoping for a natural home birth. I've had a very positive experience with her thus far.
