bit my nipple. Now it feels like it's falling off every time she eats from it. I am on the verge of tears every time she eats. At first I thought it was thrush again, but I looked closer and can see the bite mark. I want to make it to a year, but it hurts so much. Everyone keeps telling me to just stop, but I don't think I am ready. On the other hand, if this pain doesn't get better I don't know how much longer I can take it. Ugh so conflicted. Anyone else considering weaning now?

Re: This girl...
Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Do you have some Lanolin? Put some on that sucker, cover it with a breast pad until her next feed.
If you want to wean now, I say go for it. G's pediatrician gave us the okay to wean to WCM at 9 months.
SCANDAL!
If you want to keep going, let it be "free" as much as possible, i.e. walk around the house topless. Also, sun seems to help injured nipples heal faster.
During the first month of BFing LO, I ended up with a hole on the side of my nipple! Yes, a hole in my skin, a little smaller than a pencil eraser! I tried lanolin and then a prescription nipple cream for a couple weeks, it was soooo painful when he nursed. When I started letting it have more access to air, and sunbathed topless in my backyard a few times a day (the way our deck is situation and where the trees are, neighbors couldn't see me), it healed up quick.
Hmmmm... I could make this happen. DF would probably enjoy this as well!
