My friend is due with her son August 4th and in Saturday her water broke. She's going to have him via csection tomorrow morning and I'm so nervous for them. I don't want to bother her but I'm curious about why this happens? Does anyone have experience with this? Will you keep her and her baby, in your thoughts? I'm so worried about them!

Re: T and P for a friend
This is so comforting to hear. We have a great nicu near us so I'm confident in them. It's just so scary to think about how little he is and how suddenly this is all happening for them.
A girl I went to HS with had her DD at 24 weeks. She was on hospital bedrest for a month and a half beforehand because her cervix was open. She was in the NICU, then PCU, until her 37 week mark. She was 1.5 pounds when she was born and she's healthy, thriving, and home.
Philly's DS just turned one and he was due in August...and well, have you seen the kid? He turned out just fine and cute as ever.
T&P for her!
SCANDAL!
Please update how mom and baby are doing!
T&P to your friend.
Logan was six weeks early in 2006, and we were in the NICU for only one week. He had some breathing issues, jaundice, he came home with a bili-blanket , and poor suck reflex. Those are all pretty common/standard issues for a preemie, and in general boys are further behind girls in lung development. Logan is now the biggest kid in his class and perfectly normal. Well, as normal as a six year old boy can be!
Thanks, everyone! I really was encouraged reading your replies...
They texted this morning and all is well!! He was actually 5 pounds and 1 ounce - so bigger than I was expecting. He will be in the NICU for two weeks and she was going to pump right after we spoke, so so happy that everything went well!!
