We are going to be in CT visiting DH's family for the 4th of July. His uncle wants to take us out on the boat to watch the fireworks (you can see several displays from the water apparently?). The boat is plenty big for about 5-6 people, not like a speed boat or a boat you would take on a lake, but a bigger boat with a galley and - cockpit? (I don't know, I'm not up on nautical language!) I'm worried about taking Allison.
First, we MUST put a life vest on her of course, but she hates wearing extra "stuff" so I can imagine a battle there. Second, it will be late, way after her 7:30 - 8:00 bedtime. Third, what if she gets inconsolable? It isn't like we can just go home, we would be about 30-40 minutes from the docks.
I THINK it would be the 3 of us, and DH's aunt/uncle/cousin. So 5 adults. Maybe more? Help me out here 212...WWYD?

so funny you said that because a few weeks ago I was all for taking her out on the boat. DH was the wary one and sort of talked me out of it. Now he is pushing it and I don't feel 100% comfortable with it anymore...
ETA: Allison is pretty good about flexible bedtimes too so I am not as worried about the sleep part (we would just pay the next morning!) as I am about the safety and "escape clause." (as in, there is no escape!)
Pretty sure this is the winning answer...that and only if I can put a PnP or something for her to sleep in downstairs.
