My ped said we can start pastina, yogurt and ricotta cheese at 8 months. If you gave pastina to DD did you just give them a small taste or did you replace a meal with it and just let them have at it? Did you mix it with anything or just give it to them plain? Sounds like it would be dry and sticky without anything on it, but I can't imagine what I would put on it for a baby.
I'm thinking maybe once she's had both pastina and ricotta we can mix those together for a meal, but I don't want to give her two brand new foods all at once.
Re: How did you introduce pastina?
i made it into a soup . . so, what i did was heat the "little stars" in a chicken broth and fed her that way . . as she got used to it . . gave her more stars, less broth.?
I can't help with the ricorta cheese, because of DD's milk intolerance issues, she wants us to wait until after a year to introduce.?
Hi Marissa! Gabrielle is soooo cute! Thanks for the advice making it a soup is a great idea!
I also like the idea of mixing it with a veggie. Good thinking!
Thanks TARA!!!! ?I love this picture, b/c she has been making faces lately and it is great to get them on film . .
How r u doing? ?I love the new picture of Olivia . . very festive and adorable!!!?
Rville - it's the little teensy pastas in Italian wedding soup. A little bigger than couscous, a little smaller than orzo.
I cooked pastina in chicken broth and gave it to him. Sometimes I would cook some and mix it with carrots or squash.
Now? He likes tortellini.
Awww how funny!
We're doing good. Waiting for Little Miss Lazy Bones to get up off her butt and crawl hehe. When I was a baby I walked before I crawled and we truly think she's going to follow in Mommy's footsteps... literally lol. All she wants to do is stand, but she won't even try to crawl!
