Re: keeping track of lo

  • I never ever did this.  I know my friend had to do this because she was breast feeding and having supply issues, but if everything is seemingly alright and baby is thriving, I don't see any reason to.

  • I haven't kept track with DS for awhile...maybe right around 6 months. But with DD (my first) I do think I wrote everything down for at least the first year.

So you aren't the only yahoo, but it probably isn't necessary anymore. Big Smile

  • I never did. If it keeps your sanity then keep doing what you're doing.

Yup, this was us too. It just got to be too much of a chore remembering to write everything down. If I was concerned about something I'd chart it for a few days (DD had some struggles with constipation so I kept track of poopy diapers for a while). Other than that, ain't nobody got time for that!

I still do it, but that's because I sometimes need to show it to or discuss it with his specialists.
  • Not me.

I haven't kept track since she was a few months old. Once we transitioned to daycare it wasn't necessary

  • I haven't done it, but I think if it's helping you and making mealtime easier, then keep it up!

  • I still do it. As a working mom, it kind of helps me feel involved. Also, since she has poop problems, it helps me keep track of her bms.

  • I used an app on my phone and I just stopped a few weeks ago, mostly because we went on vacation and I knew I couldn't keep up. I still track her sleep times. It keeps me sane. If I feel something is off...like her bm then I might track for a bit to see.

  • i stopped tracking about a month ago.  i'm tracking what I make, and I know she's drinking less than that because i'm putting some in the freezer.

she's putting on weight, even if slowly so as long as she's getting nutrients i'm not worried about it.

  • Oh.  I thought this post was going to be about trying to keep track of lo but losing him and then finding him under the table.  Or behind the bathroom door.  Or in the closet.

    Haha me too!

I only tracked for the week or so I was breastfeeding before switching to pumping for a while, and once he started gaining again I stopped.

  • I still track her feedings via an iPhone app. I'll probably keep tracking it until she weans purely out of habit.

I used an app on my phone to keep track of bottles until DS was about 6 months old and started daycare.

I still keep track of everything during the week.  I just stopped tracking on weekends maybe 2 weeks ago.

During the week DD goes to my cousin's house.  She's a SAHM who used to work at DCs.  She said at centers they have to track everything up until they are 2. I like that she tracks for me becasue I can see when she ate, slept, peed, pooped, etc.  During the week, I still track the mornings, evenings, and MOTN.

This past weekend was the 2nd weekend that I didn't track everything.  Although its more because I forgot, not because I made the concious decision to stop.

I do still like to compaire DD's weekday and weekend routines, just to see how they compaire.

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid.  Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth.  If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP.  My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
