Success after IF

SCH success stories?

Hi all,

I am currently pregnant with 2 and was diagnosed with a small 2cm subchorionic hematoma. I have spotting, but no major bleeds yet.

I had unexplained spotting with 1 and PROM, luckily at 40 weeks. My RE is pretty sure I had an undiagnosed SCH with her too.

Dr. Google has me scared. Does anyone have a successful pregnancy despite a SCH? How did your doctor treat it?

TIA.

  • I had a small SCH with the twins. It resolved itself, and they were born healthy at 38 wks. :) I have seen many, many ladies from the IF/PAIF/SAIF boards with SCH have successful pregnancies. GL!

I had one (or two). I bled at 8 weeks, then had heavy bleeding at 15 weeks. I had some more spotting on and off for about three weeks. It resolved on its own by my 20wk anatomy scan. I'm at 27 or 28 weeks now.
Me 33. DH 32. TTC Since 6/2011. 12/2012-m/c, CP. DH: MFI. CCT/HSG/day 3 blood work-all nl. IVF#1 ER- 8/7/12, ET- 8/10. beta 8/25 neg, I did not respond as expected. AMH: 0.88. IVF#2 BCP-10/19. Micro flare Lupron-Nov: It's a bust. IVF#3 Planned for Feb '13 with a long lupron protocol ON OUR OWN!!! BFP- 1/12/13. Yay! EDD 9/18, now EDD 9/25
  • I had one. I bled heavily from 8 weeks until 15-16 weeks. There were times I overfilled a super pad in less than an hour and had blood gush down to my knees. They said mine was pretty big. By 18 weeks it resolved. Like the PPs said, you don't treat it. You just wait for it to resolve. I got a lot of early ultrasounds because they wanted to monitor it since I had some severe bleeding.
  • I spotted early on, then gushed right before I was going to graduate from the RE. I had at least some spotting almost every day until about 30 weeks, but now he's here and almost 4 months old. It is scary anytime, and doubly so when you're dealing with IF or PGAL...but there are many success stories out there to find. Best of luck and I hope we see you here in just a short while! :)

  • I had a major bleed from an SCH at 14 weeks, I spotted/bled until about 20 weeks. My boys were fine the whole time. I believe SCH does put you at a little higher risk, but you're probably seeing an MFM with 2 anyway, so they'll keep an eye on it. As PP said there is no treatment, it will resolve on its own. My boys are almost 3 months old now. GL!

I had two SCH with my first. One was accompanied with horrific bleeding and clotting. I did end up delivering nine weeks early but they don't know if it was related.
