Going in for my c sec tonite and getting anxious. I've only had vaginal deliveries before with my 2 singletons, so the c sec is new to me. I would love any advice that's maybe not in the books. Or even just something you wished you'd have know or done with c sec and twins those first days in hospital.
I just can't believe today is here! Also, I'm 37w2d with di di girls. We are pushing the section forward a week bc I'm already effaced 90 percent and starting to dilate. I went super fast with my son, so I'm choosing to go in and avoid an emergency situation.
TIA!

Re: Meeting babies tonite!
How exciting! The biggest thing I wish someone had told me about a c/s was that you should really really REALLY consider taking a stool softener. For some reason my nurse wouldn't give me any in the hospital (which surprised my ob because she orders them for all her patients) and I was absolutely miserable for 10 days as a result while I waited for my digestive system to realize how to work without two babies pressing on it. Everything just gets all rearranged! It's totally against the rules but you may even want to bring your own. I remember being super scared but if I knew then what I know now I don't think I would have been nearly as scared. It isn't fun but it's not horrible either.
You will get to hold your babies tonight! How awesome! Good luck!
I don't have experience with a vaginal delivery to compare, but my actual c/s procedure was a breeze. Very calm and quick. It's just a very surreal experience to be on the table like that. Going in, I wished I had been prepared for the recovery. It was difficult to stand straight because of the stretching feeling on my incision. I asked for a belly binder and it really helped my pain and ability to walk. I also agree with the pp about a stool softener, but they gave those to me automatically, so I took them and had no trouble. They also gave me something for the gas pain. Also, if you can- pack some facial cleansing wipes. They didn't let me get up for 30ish hours and I felt so gross. It was nice to wipe my upper body with those until I was allowed to shower.
Best of luck with your delivery! Keep us posted .

Ditto all this. Pain meds cause constipation, but keep up with them. do not try to wait until your in pain because then it'll be too late and you'll be miserable for a couple doses. Getting out of bed royally sucks the first few times, but the more you move the better you'll feel. Also ask for a Abdominal binder, it'll help a lot for the first few weeks.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
Ha! I'm afraid I can't help you there. Our babies were "Baby Boy" and "Baby Girl" for three DAYS before we decided what to name them. Good luck!
Wahoo! Here come the girls! Knowing you are heading in tonight gives me motivation today! I will look for your advice on what you wish you knew before I head in.
Congrats!
