wait a few months. I know very few kids who were potty trained before 2, and I'm quite surprised by how many aren't ready by 3. We tried DD before 2 because she was ripping off her diaper and going when we did put her on the potty, and even though the 1st few days went great, she bombed after that. A few months after 2 she was being much more forceful about taking her diaper off and insisted on being changed, we tried again and it was so much easier because she was truly ready.
Honestly, I'd just stop for now and revisit in a few weeks. IME the more you push or if you just feel like it's plain not going well it won't end well either/be too much of a struggle.
My DD will be 2 in a couple weeks. We've tried potty training twice with no luck. She doesn't seem to care yet. Whatever. She'll grow into it in time.

Most likely she isn't ready. Shelve the idea for awhile and try again in a few months.
When they are ready, it usually happens within a few days. If they are not it turns into a battle and is not worth it.
Just slow down and wait.
