So my EDD is Sept 4.... and this will be baby boy #3.  My first was 6
weeks early so I had progesterone shots with #2 and I honestly can't
remember when they stopped giving them to me, I know normally its at 36
weeks, but I went to a different hospital/ OB GYN last time that
actually made several mistakes (luckily non too life threatening).   And
now my OB is saying that with this one they will give my last shot on
Aug 7 which is my 36th week; and baby boy is already 3.5 lbs.   So I'm
wondering should I plan on LO coming closer to Aug 14th (a week after my
last shot) or still plan on closer to Sept. 4???  Anyone else ever had
those?

I've researched this a little bit since I stopped my shots this last Tuesday. From what I have read you could go ini labor 7 to 10 days after you stop, but there are no guarantees and you very well could go past your EDD.
Thanks... I was just trying to see if anyone had any personal experience...I work as needed at a hospital (in a different department then L&D) and one of the other ladies is going on vaca Aug 13-17...I was gonna work for her but didn't want to say yes I'll do it, end up being the only one scheduled for those days and then either be in labor or have him right before. I think I may just let the newly hired girl do it and tell her if I haven't had any pains the week before and she isn't comfy with it I can come in and help her. Just don't want to leave my dept. hanging.
thanks again
FYI - My last 17-P injection was on 6/7. While I have had some progress and definite contractions, baby is not here yet as of 6/22. Everyone's body is a bit different and unfortunately we can't predict when active labor will happen. (I've been in prodromal/early labor for a couple of weeks and I have definitely made more progress during the last week.)
That being said, you know your body best. If you think you could handle the situation, great (personally, I would have a back-up plan in place just in case).
Agree with PP's, there is really no be all end all for when you go into labor after the shots are done. I had my last one at 34w, 4d (so it lasted until 35w, 4d technically) and here I am at 37w, 3d, still pregnant. They way my peri explained it is was that if you get the shots and still go into pre term labor, it usually buys you an extra two weeks (like if you had a 30 weeker the first time and go into PTL again with #2, you will likely go to at least 32 weeks or so).
I am just glad the shots did their job for me, because my sis got married when I was 35w, 2d and I was her MOH...pre-term labor would have been extremely problematic, lol!
Hopefully those shots work and you can keep that baby cooking until at least term, if not full term. Good luck!
