Baby won't sleep on side

we had our 6 month appointment last week and the doctor days that if dd head is not rounded out by next month, she is going to recommend us to a specialist to have her evaluated to see is she needs a helmet. the daycare she started out at at 8wks old kept her on her back all day, so we've been dealing with this since then. we have tried everything i can think of, lots of tummy time, sleeping on side, noggin nest, etc. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions, I don't like the thought of her having a helmet. during the day she sleeps I her side but you have to keep an eye on her because she'll wiggle and get on her back. tia
