DS says "da da"

I'm nearly 95 percent sure that is his name for ME. Or at least he says it to both me and DH, but I am just around him more? I'm with him and talk about daddy and da da all the time to him. A long time ago DH joked as said he doesn't say mama much around DS because he wanted him to say dada first. I talk about myself as mommy and mama all the time to DS so it's not like he doesn't hear it, just maybe not as much as da da. How did this get so backwards? I've heard him say "ma" and " ah ma" maybe once or twice. The "m" sound is harder for them to form than the "d" sound, right?

Re: DS says "da da"

  • I've heard that "m" and "d" thing too. I'm so excited for first words! Did you see that video Janni posted on FB of Liam saying "bye bye"? Do cute and I'm so jealous!

  • M is definitely a tougher sound to make.vi swear J only says ma when hes upset, and sometimes it sounds like he's trying to call me Tula.

  • T is starting to say "mama" more, and I think he associates it with me. He tends to say it more when he needs something-he's upset, he wants out of his crib, he is stuck under the table...

But he says "dada" all the time. Sometimes he will say "daddy" but I don't know if he means it yet. It's definitely the start though, and I just love hearing him say both words!

  • Yep, the mmm sound comes later.  Charlotte says "da-da-da" but not referring to any person or object in particular.

The only "word" she says is when she doesn't like something.  Then she screams "NA-NA-NA-NA" over and over.

  • Mine say dada looking for him. They will look at me and say dada but when they want me they cry the most pitiful mama you've ever heard!
