Stroller for 3

I am pregnant with twins and due in December and my DS will be 19 months old. All the triple strollers I've seen look huge. I'm planning to use a click and go for the twins for the first several months. Anyone have recommendations for a triple stroller? There aren't a lot of options and I'm concerned my son won't do well on a sitandstand style double stroller when we transition the twins to a regular stroller . Thanks!

Re: Stroller for 3

  • Maybe a double sit and stand? Wear one baby, and a double. When both need to ride, big brother can ride on a scooter board on a good double? I'd personally invest in a good double and a board. In a year he can walk and ride and you will need two good seats for the twins.

  • Valco tri mode with jump seat? Joovy big caboose? I would get the tri mode though, more versatile.
  • I would think 19 months is too young for a glider board but I guess it will depend on the child. Just doing a search for triple strollers I found:

    - Joovy Big Caboose (heard it's a BEAST to steer though)

    - Foundations Trio Triple Stroller (at BRU)

    - Peg Perego Triplette Stroller

    - BeBe Love Triple Jogging Stroller (Amazon)

    - SafeTech Triple Jogging Stroller (on Amazon, side-by-side or tandem)

Also, Baby Jogger apparently used to make a Summit XC Triple Jogging stroller. It might be worth checking Ebay or Craigslist to see if you can find an old one.

  • We have the Joovy Big Caboose.  I think of it as a necessary evil; it's large and difficult to fit in the car, but can handle all three.  We hate throwing a ton of money at strollers, so we got it used for $150 and will probably only need it for one year or less.  I plan to resell as soon as we are done.

Honestly, in the begining in hard to say "wear one" and push the other twobecause you may need to get around more easily than baby wearing allows.

The snap and go sounds like a great idea, esp for winter babies.

I have custody of two (2 years and 4 months old) and a 10 month old DD and use the Valco trimode ex twin.  I love this stroller.  It is truly an amazing stroller.  I use it mainly at home.  My out and about stroller (which does not fit 3) is a city select.  We are flying to Italy with this stroller next week.  You are going to want a dedicated third seat.  A sit and stand is rated for 2 and a half and up.

So when you use the Double stroller, are you wearing a baby?

tri mode ex has a third seat that you can add to it to make it a triple stroller.  Google Valco Trimode and you can see it.

Valco Tri Mode Twin with Joey Seat for sure.  It's the only triple that I would buy.

  • I think investing in a really good double stroller is probably a safer bet. And then also getting a really nice baby carrier like the ergo baby. Its really comfortable to wear and they are neutral enough for daddy to wear. You can also buy a newborn insert so that you can use it from the start. I would imagine a triple stroller would just be harder to handle in general. Folding it into the car, steering in a store, etc. a double might still be some what bulky but it won't be as heavy to lift or push with two kids in it.
