  Heh...DH carries the diaper bag messenger bag style for weekend outings while I wear DS.
  
  When it's just the two of us, I try to leave the diaper bag in the car. Change diaper as soon as we get there, etc., and if I need a few things like a water bottle and a diaper I'll bring my purse. We really are minimalistic about what we bring along, though. My diaper bag is more of a car bag.

  Carrier plus a good backpack for lunch, diapers,change of clothes, etc for a long outing.

  I pack lightly and use a messenger bag.  When we do something like the zoo, I often just take snacks and buy lunch because I don't want to lug the so much stuff.

  I made a pocket in my Mei Tai, which is what I use for long carries. I'll put the wet bag in there with what ever else we need. 

  I usually don't bring much in with me though. If we bring a lunch, we'll go back to the car to eat it. This gives the kids a break as well.

  Thanks for the replies.  We pack very lightly as well. But for the zoo light is a lunch bag and a few diapers, sunscreen, wallet and phone. But I never thought to carry it messanger style under my mei tai.  I will give this a try.
