Mobile Users: Disappointing U/S Today, Possible Induction
I am 34 Weeks, 1 Day pregnant. I have GD. I've been monitored closely this entire pregnancy due to GD and dd measuring on the smaller side since her 20 week A/S.
I went to the fetal care and genetics office today for a follow up u/s. She's still measuring behind. Specifically, her stomach is only measuring at 31 weeks. The doctors said this is often caused by a placental issue, and unfortunately a cause cannot be determined. On the bright side, they did state once the baby is out she will most likely grow normally and be well.
The doctors said I'll need to do another Follow Up U/S in 3 weeks and they'll determine whether or not I need to be induced or if I should go into labor naturally. I'm really afraid of induction and it's not something I wanted, but obviously I'll do whatever is safest for my baby.
Any other BTDT moms have little ones whose stomach were measuring on the smaller side? Did you need an induction for medical reasons? If so, what was your experience?
Thanks for any responses.

My measuring ultrasound at 30 weeks had baby at 42nd percentile.
How has your GD control been going?

My GD has been well controlled. I take 1 dose of Metformin one hour before lunch, haven't need insulin. I haven't had a high # in a couple months. Of course, the odd thing is GD normally causes large babies, but my baby is small.
Prior to finding out that DD's stomach was measuring small, my OB was comfortable letting me go to 41 weeks before induction. I was hoping to go into labor naturally.
Now that her stomach is measuring in the 8th percentile, if she doesn't grow more, I will be induced between 37-38 weeks.
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed her stomach is within the normal range at the next u/s.
