Help please - follow up on resume sent via email

I emailed my resume a few days ago to a job I am interested in and never got a reply or anything - not even a confirmation of receiving the email.  So I want to send a follow up email - is that a good idea?  If so what would I say?  Thanks!!!

  • I'd definitely send a follow up email..."Hi, this is XXX. I emailed a resume to your company on XX-XX-XX. I just wanted to follow up with your to ensure that it was delivered/received properly. I'm really interested in the position and look forward to hearing from you soon."

Always follow up! I would even call the company, just ask to speak to someone in HR to make sure your resume was received! Or you could email, but you never know who you might get on the phone so be ready for an on spot phone interview.
  • I would follow-up, but I would probably wait until next week.  These things can take a while, and you want to seem eager, but not desperate.

This. It drove me crazy when people would call after a day of two of sending an application or resume. I liked to collect several and compare them, then contact the applicants. This process would take a week to a week and a half. Give it a week from when you submitted then send an email. Good luck!!
