Hi Ladies
How we holding up?
Yesterday's appointments went ok I now have to mix 2 forms of insulin long acting and fast acting and give myself a shot in morning to see if that controls my sugars better . My doctors have made my Non stress tests twice weekly now so on Mondays and Thursdays I have to go in . I came home after appointment and basically had a huge crying fit guess it's from all the stress and the fact that my husband moved the furniture around and rearranged things ( his idea of rearranging things is to take anything he doesn't like and place it in a huge box so my neat filing system and where I kept everything for writing letters and making crafts is a huge jumbled mess he also washed and dried all the clothes but left them sitting in the baskets then he said lets run to the store and buy slipcovers for the couches well we went to 6 different stores and returned no slipcovers in site and 2 very cranky tired children as he feed them junk food while I was at the doctors .
The doctors have said after 37 weeks I can start taking short walks no lifting of children or doing chores so I have a new goal to look forward to
Re: Friday Bed Rest Check In
I am new to the bump and any/all forums. I saw this topic and am not sure how to "join" but would like to since I am also now on bed rest as of this week.
welcome to the group .
How far along are you?
what's your type of bed rest?
Modified bed rest
strict bed rest
hospital bed rest ?
I am 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant have been on modified bed rest since April I have heart conditions and gestational diabetes as well as chronic major depression Ptsdd and a history of postpartum depression . I have 2 teenage children 13 and 12 they live with their father . and 2 toddlers ages 3 1/2 years old special needs sensory disorder and possible mood disorder also have a 2 1/2 years old son and am expecting another boy my due date is 22 of july
I am feeling great today. Probably the best I've felt since being put on bedrest. I actually have energy. My mother would say "oh you're going to go into labor!" But maybe it's because I actually slept a full eight hours last night for the first time in months.
Position/fluid check U/S and NST today. Then weekend. Beautiful outside. Looking forward to getting to go outside next week!
Hope everyone is doing well. Lizzy - welcome! just go ahead and introduce yourself - e.g. how many weeks, reason for bedrest - and post how you are doing or anything you'd like to say or ask.
You can take a look at yesterday's for an idea of what people people post

I am 30 weeks, 1 day today. As of right now I am at home on (I guess) strict bed rest. I am allowed up for 1 hr morning, noon, evening, night.
Brief hx:
First pregnancy, otherwise healthy and very active, MICU RN, no pre-exisiting issues
I began having frequent BH contractions at 26wks (q2min lasting 30-60sec each) causing me to go to OB Triage. There, they determined I was probably just dehydrated (with an irritable uterus at baseline), monitored me, gave me a liter of LR, and started me on Procardia which my OB said I could take PRN (before work, exercise, if they became more frequent). However, last week I developed severe, constant back pain and contacted my provider. They said not to worry and that it was probably just baby's position. The pain lasted through Friday night and changed while I was at work to where my back would actually cramp up and radiate just to my sides. I never felt a single "contraction" like with the BH. That morning I called my provider and was unable to talk during one of the cramping episodes. She immediately told me to go to Triage. There they determined my contractions were indeed REAL and I am now 80% effaced, dilated maybe a fingertip. I got the full pre-term labor work up with Mag, PCN, betamethasone, the works. I was discharged on Tuesday with my bed rest instructions and have an appointment with my provider on Monday. I now take my Procardia q6 hours with a "boost" at 4 hours if needed. As of now, I feel great in the morning with more contractions and mild/moderate back discomfort in the evening that is resolved with side-lying.
Why is my body being so difficult!? I was REALLY enjoying pregnancy and looking forward to this trimester. As previously scheduled, I still have people here to help get my nursery ready. My Uncle is painting, new carpet Monday, and I just want to NEST dang it!! (haha) I also have a baby shower scheduled here on the 30th and am nowhere near ready.
Disclaimer - I know that things could be much much worse, and that some are on bed rest for almost their ENTIRE pregnancy. Please know I am not having a pity-party.. more or less just venting a bit of frustration.
Thanks for reading.
aiche sorry about the insulin combo but you are so close! And then you can take back over your house

Yay! I'm so glad you're feeling better! I don't think I ever asked, but do you live locally? We should get our minions together once this bed rest and possible early delivery stuff is but a distant memory
I didn't sleep so well last nite - yucky post-partum dreams about not being allowed to see my babies
. DH shaved my legs this morning though, so I can wear a dress to my doc appt (BPP and prenatal). Still hoping for another 2.5w of uneventful pregnancy and then anytime is fine. I can't believe I've come this far!

Vent away ladies that's what this board is for.
I sorted through my children's clothes and realized that my daughter had a whole closet full of to small clothes that I put in a trash bag and now need to find a home for I saved all the outgrown clothes from my son his brother can grow into them .
I need to get my daughter some tights to go with her dresses and some long sleeved shirts to go under them to protect her from the sun
Anyone have any ideas why the opening post is always missing for me?
Night was good last night, finally no horrid dreams and a bowel movement! Ah the little joys in life! Another day closer to 22 weeks!
Thanks, again for this board. Nice to have a place to lay it all out and not be judged. Happy day to everyone!
Getting very uncomfortable to sleep. Belly is heavy. Muscles are antsy. Wow! I sound like a big complainer. I'm actually having a pretty good day; I'm okay with where I am currently. I'm in this for the remainder!
My husband almost finished tiling the kitchen. I wish I could post a pic. Hoping to move in next week!
8 days to 34 weeks! Have a great Friday everyone!!
I do! : ) Border of Belmont/Cambridge/Watertown. That's a great idea - would love to
Yay re 32.5!

Mine seem to be worse and more frequent in the evening now. One OB nurse told me that it happens to a lot of people. Maybe something to do with full belly from eating/drinking all day. Last night mine were worst just before going to bed around 10-ish. No issues upon waking this morning.

Today was a decent and productive day. I made my own thank you cards, baby shower gifts for several friends and converted 3vhs to DVD. This is my first productive day not work related since being put on MBR
