Bottles-do they expire?

I am having our second child at the end of the year.  Our daughter is now 4 years old.  Can I use the bottles I used with her?  A friend told me last night I need to get all new ones and get rid of the old ones.  Any info is helpful.  Thanks!

    I agree with the PP on the bottles.  You are supposed to get new bottle nipples though.  I didn't know this with my first but you are supposed to replace them every 3-6 months.  Whoops!

    LOL.

    My bottles from my 1st were from 2010 and all the BPA bottles were gone by then. Since your DD is a year old older you just may want to double check. And yes to new nipples.

    I'd toss plastic bottles, especially if they are scratched or discolored.  Plastics tend to break down and leach with age and exposure to heat (from dishwashing and sanitizing).  New nipples are definitely a must.  If I had glass bottles, I would have no issues with re-using those indefinitely.

    Stella was born in 2009 and everything out at that point was BPA free. I used some with G almost 2 years ago, and will use them with 3 in December. I should add, the only ones I saved are my Born Frees. They are glass, were expensive and I will replace the nipples and valves. I used my drop ins again, but passed them on after, since there isn't much to them I would feel comfortable using them with a third

    I would do this, particularly if they were heavily used.
