Has anyone else seen this? It's a story about a woman who had an ectopic pregnancy (they didn't figure this out till MUCH later). She went into labor (in the 1950's) and didn't have a baby after 2 days so she went to the hospital. They told her she needed a c-section, but she saw a woman die at the hospital during childbirth, freaked out, and left. Eventually the baby stopped moving and she chose to "try to forget" it happened.
Well, this was all fine and good until 46 years later when she started having horrible abdominal pain. She went to the hospital and they did an u/s thinking she had a cyst. After a couple tests they figured it was a pregnancy. Turns out the fetus was totally calcified. It was basically a rock, which was by the way totaly intertwined with her bowel, bladder, intestines, etc.
They were able to remove the fetus and disected it. It was kindof disturbing, but you could see the brain, organs, etc still inside. Very strange story.
Re: Pregnant for 46 years
I didn't see or read about it, but heard about it on the radio. It's crazy / amazing that she didn't die!
Oh and BTW, YOUR MOM.
