DeKalb Medical

Hey - does anyone have any opinion about delivering at DeKalb Medical?  The Ob/Gyn that I go to (who I love and want to continue using) delivers there.  I know that's where my sister and I were born, but that was 25 + years ago and things change.  I don't know anyone who's delivered there recently, and was hoping someone on here could give me their opinion.

    Do you live in the decatur area?  You could post this on decaturmetro.com free for all friday or on the decaturmamas yahoo group if you dont get much response here.

    i delivered both of my boys there. it was close by and i had done some work for them in the past so i was comfortable with them. over all it was just fine. the rooms are nice, the staff is nice, and the lactation consultants are very helpful. the food isn't awesome but i was so hungry it didn't matter. i have heard people rave about food and amenities at other hospitals (almost like a spa hotel) and it is not that, but that wasn't what i was looking for; i was looking for close, professional, and easy. plus they do free cord blood donations there and i really like the ethics and community work of the facility overall.

    I delivered both my kids there, my most recent being a few months ago. The rooms are really nice, all of the nurses, etc. I've got no complaints, except for the good, but like above, I didn't care because I wasn't hungry and felt like crap after my c-section.

    We had NICU experience, too and I can't say enough good things about them. Very sweet nurses and doctors, there.
