I have 2 recipe books and also use wholesomebabyfood.com recipes - many call for onions - do you use them? Just curious, so far I have been omitting them because I wasn't sure she would like them or if they were necessary.
I rarely used them, but yes I did use them. I didn't really omit anything. We didn't do purees for long, but when I made them I always added herbs, spices, etc. I hate bland food so I figured my kid would too.
I don't see why not? WE're doing mostly BLW, so if the dish has onions in it, then DS will end up eating it. I'm not deliberately giving him onions, but I'm not avoiding using it either.

We do BLW, so we gave her onion when it was in the dish. I gave her roasted potato with onion and garlic last week. She didn't really eat the onion, just licked it, but the flavours were in the potatoes and she loved them. I want her to have a varied palate so I try to include as many different things as possible.
